Wallarah Minerals Servicing Australian Industry Wallarah Minerals is a fully Australian owned marketer of industrial minerals such as Ball Clay, Barytes, Ceramic Clays, Diatomite, Dolomite, Feldspar & Nepheline Syenite, Kaolins, Ilmenite, Limestone, Pyrophyllite, Rutile, Silica flour, Silica Sands including Frac/Proppants, specialty/performance minerals & chemicals.

Wallarah Minerals was established by Managing Director, Ross Druitt, in 1982, prides itself on its ability to provide a high level of service to a wide-ranging group of industrial and agricultural clients.

This service not only includes ensuring that the right product is delivered at the right time but involves a total commitment to quality and a technical advice service that assists customers in mineral selection to meet specific end-usage requirements.

In 1987 Wallarah Minerals purchased a crushing and screening plant at Marulan, NSW, to further service its clients. The plant processes raw materials for the refractory industry and other industries based in the Port Kembla area of NSW.

Research & Development

Wallara Mineral's current R&D programs include

• Production of silicon nitride Intervertebral Spacers*
• Development of Solar-Hydrogen materials for the production of hydrogen from water using solar energy, in association with the Centre for Material Research in Energy Conversion UNSW

* In the medical field a wholly owned subsidiary of Wallarah Minerals, Sialon Ceramics Pty. Limited, in collaboration with Unisearch, is developing prostheses manufactured from reaction-bonded silicon nitride.
